+ Our History

Quantum Reality Capture was born from our founder, Brooks Johnson’s vision of a future where as-built documentation is faster, more precise, and accessible for AEC professionals and property owners. During Brooks’ career in construction and architecture, he played a key role in adaptive reuse projects, where documenting existing building conditions was essential but labor-intensive. Like many colleagues, he relied on meticulous hand-measured sketches that were later digitized for project teams—a time-consuming and error-prone process.

Brooks discovered LiDAR technology and recognized its potential to revolutionize how existing conditions were captured with unmatched speed and accuracy. Inspired by its potential, he became dedicated to researching advancements in LiDAR and drone technology.

In 2021, Brooks joined forces with his friend and colleague, Josh Good, and investing partner, Josh Schaap, to turn the vision of QRC into reality. Since then, they have built the company into a leading, national reality capture services provider, renowned for high-quality deliverables and staying at the forefront of innovation.
